About Us

Matthew Swift Gallery shows beautiful and intelligent contemporary art at national art fairs and in Gloucester, Massachusetts, emphasizing the work of artists continuing Gloucester’s rich legacy as a center for new American Art.

Matthew Swift Gallery is located in a purpose-built space within the elegant Gloucester Safe Deposit and Trust building of 1880 in the heart of historic downtown Gloucester and the Harbortown Cultural District. Art is on view in the gallery during public hours, and by appointment at a nearby private showroom.

Founder and Director Dr. Matthew Swift opened Trident Gallery in the same location in 2013. After six years and fifty exhibitions, Swift renewed his lease and continued under the name of its founder and director as Matthew Swift Gallery.
