DESCRIPTION:A torch-lit live re-enactment of the Nativity.\n\nRockport's 74th Annual Live Christmas Pageant is around the corner!\n\nIn the spirit of the holidays\, the Rockport Art Association and Museum once again presents the Annual Live Christmas Pageant. The pageant will be held Saturday\, December 21\, 2019 at 5 PM (rain date Sunday\, December 22nd at 5 PM).\n\n \n\nEach year hundreds of spectators gather to watch the live re-enactment of the story of baby Jesus\, Mary and Joseph\, the Bethlehem inn and the stable. The pageant begins with a torch lit procession which starts at Dock Square and proceeds up Main Street to the Congregational Church. Here the story of Jesus' birth is brought to life through a live narration.\n\n \n\nThe pageant was originated by Dr. William F. Strangman and Mrs. Aldro Hibbard in 1947\, as a gift from the Rockport Art Association to the village. It remains a solid holiday season fixture to this day. \n\n \n\nJoin us as an onlooker or participant in the roles of children of Bethlehem\, ladies of Bethlehem\, shepherds or torch bearers. Makeup and costumes supplied.
