DESCRIPTION:Enjoy free concerts in the Cape Ann Museum Courtyard on Thursdays between July 11 and August 29 from 5:00-6:30 pm. These weekly concerts are presented as part of the city-wide Culture Splash\, an event series where Gloucester's two cultural districts\, Rocky Neck Cultural District and Harbortown Cultural District\, join forces to celebrate and promote the local vibrant cultural organizations\, creative groups and individuals\, galleries\, artists and non-profits. \n\nThe CAM Courtyard Concerts feature local and regional musicians from a wide variety of musical genres. The Museum will be open with free admission during Culture Splash from 4:00 6:30 pm. The concerts will be cancelled if there is rain. Limited outdoor seating will be provided by the Museum\, come early to reserve your seat or bring your own lawn chair to ensure a spot! \n\nFamilies are invited to join the Museum for free family programming starting at 3:00 pm on Thursdays. Movement @ the Museum will be offered on July 11 and August 29 and Art & Sensory for Ages 3 10 will be offered every Thursday from July 19 August 22. After the CAM Courtyard Concerts\, follow the Culture Splash Gallery Stroll from the Museum's galleries down Pleasant Street and across Main Street to enjoy Gloucester's commercial galleries. These include\, but are not limited to: Jane Deering Gallery\, Michalak / Nagle Gallery\, Charles Fine Art Gallery\, and Amend / Bish Gallery. \n\nAbout the Musicians:\n\nSol y Canto?is the award winning Pan-Latin ensemble led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer and bongo player Rosi Amador and New Mexican guitarist and composer Brian Amador. Featuring Rosi's crystalline voice and Brian's lush Spanish guitar and inventive compositions\, Sol y Canto is known for making their music accessible to Spanish- and non-Spanish speaking audiences of all ages. Their original songs are distinguished by poetic\, often quirky lyrics set in a framework of varied musical styles with surprising twists. Sol y Canto can make you dance\, laugh\, cry and sigh all in one concert. Their arrangements of classic and contemporary Latin tunes are always fresh and original.
