SUMMARY:Hayley Reardon and The Clements Brothers at Old Sloop Presents
DESCRIPTION:Cape Ann's already vibrant music scene has been further enriched by the arrival of Hayley Reardon and The Clements Brothers\, who will make their debuts at the Old Sloop Presents performing arts series Saturday\, March 23.\n\nRaised in Marblehead\, Reardon dove headfirst into music at the age of 15. She has now been honing her craft for a decade now\, sharing the stage with acts like Lori McKenna\, Rodney Crowell\, and Ana s Mitchell. Her raw artistry boasts a lyrical and melodic weight far beyond her years. Her music has been described as "brilliantly moving folk/pop with a lyrical depth and soul" (Performer Magazine) and "a melancholy little masterpiece" (American Song-writer Magazine). No Depression writes "Reardon is truly a treasure."\n\nThe Clements Brothers are George and Charles Clements\, identical twins from Maine. They've been making music together for as long as they can remember. They played together in the internationally touring grass-roots band\, 'The Lonely Heartstring Band' with whom they put out two albums on Rounder Records. With roots\, rock\, bluegrass\, jazz\, and classical influences\, George (on guitar) and Charles (on bass) capture their singer-songwriter sensibilities in a unique blended voice\, at once enthralling and intimate\, groovy and serene. Their music is filled with vocal harmonies\, instrumental virtuosity\, and an infectious love of song.\n\nThe performance will take place at 7:30pm in the handicap-accessible Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church of Rockport\, 12 School St. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for those age 18 and under. Visit oldslooppresents.org\, John Tarr Store in Rockport\, or The Bookstore of Gloucester. The suggested contribution at the door is $25 for adults\, $5 for those age 18 and under\, and $50 for families.\n\nOld Sloop Presents is a nonprofit\, all-volunteer project of the First Congregational Church\, conceived to thank the community for its support of the historic Sandy Bay meetinghouse. The program presents a variety of performing arts at affordable prices in a welcoming\, informal\, and alcohol-free environment. Delicious homemade desserts\, donated by parishioners and friends of the Old Sloop\, are available for sale\, as are fair trade coffee and tea and other beverages.
