DESCRIPTION:REDUCTION WOODCUT AUGUST WORKSHOP #5 SIGN UP NOW!\n\nMonday through Friday\, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, Aug 12 - 16. Price: $545.00. Six spots are available. All supplies are included. Toolset purchase is optional. Please bring a brown bag lunch daily to enjoy wharfside. All skill levels are welcome. Some experience is good.\n\nDon Gorvett offers one-week workshops for adults seventeen or older in July and August. We welcome all skill levels\; no experience is necessary. Workshops are limited to six participants. We will supply a woodblock\, oil-based relief ink\, some paper\, and studio carving tools. Please bring a sketchbook for drawing and note-taking\, drawing implements\, and paper towels for clean-up. If you have carving tools\, please bring them. We have studio carving tools available and new carving tool sets for purchase.\n\nThe workshop will cover block design\, tool & press usage\, and relief printing techniques as practiced by Don Gorvett. We will also discuss color theory\, an integral part of the process. Art history\, woodcut printing in the twentieth century\, and selections from Don's classical music collection will be part of the conversation throughout the courses. The goal is for participants to understand the intricacies of relief block printing and create an edition of ten prints.
