Considered as the oldest classical dance form, Bharatanatyam originated in the temples of Southern India. Mimiliṣā  (Desire to Meet) , a Bharatanatyam performance is a must see at Windhover's magical outdoor stage that merges seamlessly with the enchantment of nature around you. Audience and stage are under a large tent with open sides so performances occur rain or shine.
Soumya Rajaram is an exponent of Bharatanatyam with two decades of performance experience, and a finalist for the Traditional Arts Fellowship by Massachusetts Cultural Council each year since 2016. Soumya performs regularly at dance festivals throughout the USA and in India. In the Boston area, she is regularly featured at The Jose Mateo Ballet theater festival, The New England Folk Festival and at The Dance Complex.
