Description

Down to Earth Business Solutions:  Sustainability through Composting

You are invited to Cake Ann in Gloucester for FREE coffee, pastries, and "a side of sustainability" to learn how businesses like yours can benefit from composting during the final installment of a three-part speaker series about sustainable business practices.

This session features Black Earth Compost, a local composting company founded in 2011. Black Earth Compost's Justin Sandler will highlight the opportunities composting can afford to businesses. Matt Cawley from Short and Main in Gloucester will share his experience with Black Earth's program.

You'll learn about the benefits of composting for your business:

Marketing opportunities: Businesses are highlighted to local residents that use our service. People like to support restaurants that do the right thing with their food scraps.
Destination of trash vs. compost" Compost is processed locally in Manchester-by-the-Sea whereas some MA trash ends up in landfills as far away as Alabama.
Nutrient recycling and rebuilding our local soil: Compost is used by nearby farmers and Backyard Growers to grow local healthy food
Supporting our local circular economies
Black earth Compost is is a Gloucester-based company focused on closing the loop on food production

A Q & A session will follow the presentation.

This program is sponsored by the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce's Business Sustainability Committee and is sponsored by TownGreen.
