We’re excited to announce our first visiting artist event! Leo Tecosky will be doing a live glassblowing demonstration at our studio Saturday, June 8th. Come watch this master glassblower at work as part of our “Master Series” and take a walking tour of our studio (in our huge renovated barn).
*$25 Tickets include a hand blown drinking glass made in the Bubble Factory. (Kids are free)
About the Artist:
Leo earned a BA from Alfred University and an MFA from The School of Visual Art in Manhattan. He teaches both nationally and internationally. He was an integral part of our team during the Longfellow Bridge project, helping us blow the gigantic hollow spheres that are now part of the bridge lights and we’re so happy to have him at the Bubble Factory!
“Leo Tecosky, deconstructs iconography through an impressive range of glassmaking techniques. From graffiti letters etched with Islamic patterns to hot-sculpted, Wildstyle-arrow installations, Tecosky juxtaposes the complexity of visual language with the fluidity and transparency of glass. Whether bending neon tubes or screen printing flat glass, his work reflects cultural exchange and the mathematics within archetypes.”
