The Rocky Neck Cultural District and Harbortown Cultural District will be reaching across the harbor April 11 and 12th to support a clean Gloucester Harbor. This effort is the first Gloucester Harbor marine debris cleanup. The weekend kicks off on Friday at 7pm at Maritime Gloucester. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to visit http://maritimegloucester.org/visit/events and register for the events as we anticipate a full house. Rachael Miller, Executive Director of The Rozalia Project will provide an engaging and interactive presentation on marine debris. In addition to the presentation, an example of marine debris art, created by Nina Cassel Samoiloff, will also be on display. Cape Ann residents, students and visitors are encouraged to assist in cleaning various designated venues along Gloucester Harbor. The cleanup will be conducted from 10am – 11am, unless otherwise noted, and will include such sites as Maritime Gloucester, Eastern Point Breakwater/Audobon property, Rocky Neck to Ocean Alliance, and Pavillion Beach. Volunteers are encouraged to contact Maritime Gloucester or check the website (www.maritimegloucester.org) which will include information about additional designated cleanup sites, the names and contact information of cleanup supervisors and other guidance
