When Henry David Thoreau previewed his upcoming book Walden at the Gloucester Lyceum, the headline the next day in the Gloucester Daily Times read "An unsuitable lecture." Historian Wayne Soini will discuss Thoreau's lecture that night and Gloucester's response to it, 175 years ago this year.
