The Panorama Film Festival recently returned to Salem for its second year

Salem, MA Jan 5 — The Panorama Film Festival recently returned to Salem for its second year - and for the first time ever - at the Peabody Essex Museum! The celebration of Trans and Queer filmmakers kicked off on Friday, December 29th in the PEM atrium with a sold out red carpet reception, screenings and performances by the fabulous Salem drag queen, Miz Diamond Wigfall and Brooklyn legend, Julie J. North Shore LGBTQ+ youth were also seen strutting down the runway with the support of NAGLY and Love Your Labels after a Drag 101 workshop with Maxine Harrison and Buster Pants. The celebration continued throughout the weekend with a diverse selection of films screened during museum hours on Saturday and Sunday.

The mission of Panorama is to celebrate the wide diversity of experience and talent within the Trans and Queer young filmmaking community both in front of as well as behind the camera. This festival is a testament to the creativity and collaboration of the Trans and Queer community. To create space for trans and queer artists to tell their own and appreciate others stories without pressure to advocate for an entire community. To simply exist as a trans or queer person in the world is revolutionary enough. Submissions are open for Panorama 2024.
